Like so many during the pandemic of 2020, Long-Island based songwriter Joe Iadanza witnessed the chaos and experienced the struggle of keeping faith and hope alive under conditions of confinement, separation, and uncertainty.

Not one to give up on the world or on his own search for inner peace; Iadanza, who is also an interfaith minister, counselor, yogi and meditator, spent time each day meeting those emotions head-on; diving in and searching for deeper meaning in the chaos.

In the midst of that exploration, Iadanza found comfort, as songwriters often do, in writing new music. “Following You” - Joe’s first release since his third full-length album, “Common Man” (2019) - is a result of that exploration.

As romantic as optimistic as Joe’s songs often are, Iadanza doesn’t sugar coat it with “Following You”; crying out in the choruses, “I’m tired. I’m tired and wasted, still I’m following you”... with the listener being left the task of contemplating what or whom the “you” in the lyric is meant to represent.

“Following You” was produced, arranged, recorded, and mixed at Joe’s home in Sea Cliff, NY, with Iadanza performing all of the parts and engineering the song himself.

“It’s amazing what has become possible at home with time and a little bit of patience. You’re going to hear some new sounds here to complement the acoustic guitar you might normally expect from me. ‘Following You’ has a bit of an ELP, “Lucky Man” inspiration both instrumentally and sonically. What an incredible gift it is to be able to create and share music while still in relative lock-down. It really has helped to make the world feel more connected and a little less lonely.”

A companion video will be released in tandem with the single.
